Fighting for your Family
In scripture, it speaks of messages from the Heavenly Realm being sent to people on Earth. It tells of messages being delayed, from fighting in the Heavenly Realm. It speaks of Angels desiring to see, of God showing His wisdom on Earth.
Ephesians 6:12 ASV
12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 3
9 and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things; 10 to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
1 Peter 1:12 ASV
12 To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
Jesus said
Matthew 12 ASV 30 He that is not with me is against me;
The problem
that is going on all around us is not the guy, the girl, the flat tire or the bad news. Those things do happen in life and could just be nothing more than that. It rains on the just and on the unjust. Everybody gets wet, but there is something else.
There's a war going on.
This war has been going on probably before the creation of the Earth, but most definitely clearly seen in scripture where Adam and Eve were attacked by Satan in a very subtle way. God said to them, “Don’t do this one thing.” Satan tricked them with deceiving words that must have given them desiring thoughts. They did the one thing not to do. Out from the life in the garden to the toil of the ground.
This is one reason why it's important to have a firm foundation in God Almighty, the Word of God, to know you are clothed in Jesus Christ’s righteousness. Get, make, have, Godly people in your life. I would even say if you can, only, mainly have Christian relationships if you can.
You're fighting for yourself, you're fighting for your family. You're fighting for your immediate family. You're fighting for your brothers and sisters, your sons and daughters, your aunts and uncles, grandma, and grandpa. By being a light unto the world.
There will be situations that hinder you, people that come against you, and it's really in a way against God, because you are a child of God, a light unto the world. People will not say they're doing it because they’re enemies with God; they may not realize they are enemies against God, under evil influence, but they'll do things to hinder your life, your influence, your testimony. If the enemy can’t keep you from salvation, then the enemy may try to hurt your testimony with temptation. Temptations can be desire, can be hurting some one, cheating, lying, getting you out of Gods Word, and so on. That is why it's important to be very grounded in your Christian walk. Hot are cold? Pick one.
Think like you are the general, spell it with a J, for Jesus, (Jeneral) whose assignment is to point your family that is under your roof to Jesus, by reading the word, praying, your faith, your words, your actions, and people you allow to enter your domain.
Save your family.
You may say it is hard, maybe too hard. I would say it is hard, maybe too hard, in your own strength. But you’ve got some very powerful friends. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!
The Bible. Very interesting book. Written by different authors, but yet there is cohesion to all the books under the covering called the Bible, which seems like a miracle in itself. What you can learn from reading the Bible never ends; that is like a miracle in itself. The word is alive; that is a miracle. There is power because it is the word of God, and the word of God will not return void.
If you don't read the Bible, then you won't be able to learn about things that will better your life. Being a General over your family, you need to learn of the power of God's word and the gifts you have been given. Grow your faith; it will change your life.
Read the Bible every day. Start with five minutes if that's all you could do, and this will help you grow. As you grow spiritually, get spiritually stronger, you will find yourself always studying the word and always want to be as God wants you to be. That does take time. Paul said, “When I am weak, then I am strong.” As the years pass, you get physically weaker but spiritually stronger.
The next thing you gotta do, it's really important, is to find the right church for you and your family. The radio; if you hear a man preaching the word of God and he is a pastor of a church that is in your scope of driving. Books, books; you read a book written by a pastor of a church, within your driving range.
Go online, search for Christian churches. Go to the church website, look at what they believe, listen to some of their messages, see what they are doing for Jesus, are the lost being saved, is there a place for you and your family to get involved? If you can find all that, that would be a good start.
At church,
Husbands find a man's group/ bible study. Wives find a woman's group / bible study. Children find a children's group / bible study / bible fun/ bible story/ bible cartoons/ bible toys/ jump on your dad when he’s lying down, shout “ I’m David and you are Goliath,” no, no, let Dad rest, jump on your uncle and say, “You’re a lion and the Lord is going to deliver you into my hands,” tire your uncle out before dinner time so your mom doesn't have to work as hard, just have fun and praise the Lord.
Build on the rock.
In this way, you are strengthening yourself, strengthening your family, and building on the rock, which is Jesus Christ. When the storms come and they will come, your foundation is in Christ, your family's foundation is on the rock. You, the General, go to the SCRIPTURES AND YOU BELIEVE THE SCRIPTURES. YOU PRAY THE SCRIPTURES. God, this is what you said! I have found myself leaning on the Scriptures, over and over again. We have faith in God Almighty!
Do all this on your walk and bring your family to kingdom.
